Date: 11/02/19 | Categories Skip Hire
When will I require a skip permit?
If you're placing a skip on a road you will require a skip hire permit. A parking suspension is sometimes necessary if the skip is going to be placed in a controlled parking zone, such as single yellow lines or a display bay.
How long does it take to get a skip permit?
In most instances, it can take up to three or four days to receive your skip hire permit, so it's advisable to plan ahead. Different councils will process the permit at different speeds, so it's always best to double-check with your local council.
Spire skips can help arrange your permit to ensure that the waste in your skip is processed in line with environment agency regulations.
How much does a skip permit cost?
Charges vary depending on where you are in the UK and how long the skip is required for on the road. The average cost of a skip hire license is approximately £30. However, additional costs may be charged if you the skip on a road for an extended period.
Can I use my driveway instead?
Our skip hire trucks can weigh as much as 8 tonnes, that coupled with the 10 tonne load it can carry means the access to and from the skip location needs to be ideal for such weight.
